We come to your groups' location. We will work with your groups' site coordinator ahead of time to ensure adequate space and appropriate environment for the class you wish to schedule. We usually hold classes in a church activity room, or a large classroom depending on the size of your group.
For most classes and seminars, attendees are asked to arrive 30 minutes early to fill out the registration form and pay the course fee on site at your groups' location. We accept cash, check, or Venmo.
Our current process is to collect payment at your location during the registration process for your attendees. We currently accept cash, check, or Venmo.
Experience has taught us that class sizes of 10 to 40 attendees work best for our self defense courses.
Wear fitness or gym attire, or loose and comfortable clothing you can freely move in. Shoes should be athletic style, stable shoes. Optional: Bring a 1+ inch thick, padded gym mat if you have one / the thick kind-- not a yoga mat. Bring bottled water and healthy snacks!
No worries! There are no floor / ground maneuvers in this class. The instructors may demonstrate these for you, but participants will not be doing these. You will never be thrown down or "beat up"! You will rehearse the self defense skills at a modified pace, never at full speed-- in a comfortable, relaxed environment.
The first part of the seminar covers personal safety and mind-set, awareness, de-escalation, avoidance, and escape strategies. We emphasize methods to make yourself less of a target for crime or assault. The second half of the course covers basic and appropriate self defense movements that you can employ should you ever need them. NOTE: Even if You are physically unable to participate in the self defense movement portion of the class, you will still benefit greatly from this course!
No. For obvious reasons, we will be using "dummy" defensive spray training canisters for you to practice on a target. At no time will we be using "live" defensive sprays! This class is not only educational, but one of our most popular-- and FUN!
Approximate class times are listed under the "Couse Descriptions" tab. The break times are based on class duration, usually hourly. Having bottled water on hand is always encouraged, and you will find that you can slip out anytime for bathroom breaks! A healthy snack break is always included in our longer seminars!
